Best new Christmas song of the year: 2014

So, it’s almost Christmas, and, as it does for six weeks every year, Billboard is running its “Holiday 100” sales+airplay chart of Christmas-themed songs. Because of the perpetual nature of Christmas music, for the most part it’s the same songs charting every year that have been charting every year since the '40s, but there are always a handful of new songs that break through each year and potentially become future earworms.

I have pored over the Holiday 100 for the week ending December 27th, 2014, and picked out only 15 recordings which, as far as I can tell, were first released this year. Which is your favorite?

I’m sorry, I can’t vote in your poll because Alicia Witt’s “I’m Not Ready For Christmas” is the hands-down winner.

I have to listen to these, especially the new ones and not the covers, and vote.

What about the Killers’ “Joel the Lump of Coal”? It’s their 2014 Christmas song (they do one each year), so it’s new. And it’s a really good Christmas song.

It hasn’t charted, and in fact, only two of their Christmas singles have - “Boots” and “A Great Big Sled”.

Which is a shame, because “Joseph, Better You Than Me” is my favorite religious Christmas song ever.
