"Best of the Worst?"

OK, so under user names, I’ve seen “moderator,” “charter member,” “member,” and “guest,” but today I saw one that I’ve never seen before: “Best of the Worst,” under Boyo Jim’s name. What is this new designation, “Best of the Worst???”

He won the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest for the worst opening sentence for a hypothetical book last year.

EDIT: Here’s a thread about it from last year.

That’s right! I read that thread and went to that web site and read all the entires. So, did he ask the mods for a special title or what?

(Not that I think he doesn’t deserve special title - he totally does! I loved his sentence, it was awesome!)

You’ve still got about a day to try to unseat him, and still keep the title here at the Dope.

He’s pulling for you.

*** Ponder

The mods thought this was a singular honour and granted this title for an exceptional situation. Otherwise, we do not customize titles.

After the 15th I reckon **Boyo’s ** designation should be changed to “Used to be the Best of the Worst”. In a competition about failure, celebrating his status as a has-been seems somehow appropriate

“Has-been Best of the Worst”

Maybe I ought to submit something to that contest. Everything I write is pretty terrible

No, no. It’s back to simply being one of “The Worst” for him.
