Now that the holidays are over, let’s get back into i. Having voted for Outkast and PJ Harvey in previous polls, I’m going with Sleater-Kinney here, with Yo La Tengo a close second.
Yo La Tengo. I’m still fond of that album - very atmospheric.
Slim Shady for me.
Voted for Travis just ahead of Eminem.
I went with Eminem here. I like the S-K album, but it’s a kind of an average S-K album to me (although they set a high bar for “average” within their repertoire, and I already voted for them with “Call The Doctor,” although it is not unlikely I will vote for them again, depending on what competition we see in the upcoming years and if they appear again, which I assume is a given). My number two would probably be Yo La Tengo, and third, most likely Radiohead, even though that is not an album I listen to, it still sounds to me like a great album, just not one I particularly have gotten around to fully appreciate yet.
This!
PJ Harvey
All That You Can’t Leave Behind is, IMHO, U2’s best album since The Joshua Tree. Easy vote for me.
Went with Kid A, but Stankonia, Slim Shady, and Shelby Lynne weren’t far behind.
Voted for Eminem, but Yo La Tengo is great, too – mellow, atmospheric, yet musical.
