Best pics from 2008

Wow, we have some talented photographers in this place!

And, thank you Shayna

Renee, that is one happy looking dog!

I bought a new digital slr at the beginning of the summer, here are some of the shots I took:

A squirrel in my front yard.

Dragonfly

Sunset

Deer

He was about four months old and I got the perfect expression.

The morning after he was born.

Actually, leafrog, leaves3 is my fav of yours. Great photos!

Those are absolutely gorgeous shots!

Some of mine:
Flower
Shadows on a staircase
Purple house in San Francisco
Ferry building in SF
Dancing in the fountain

Hope the last one works. Somehow I never got around to putting that set on Flickr, so Facebook it is…

Innis Woods Metro Gardens in Westerville, Ohio.

Whatsit the Youngest

Whatsit Jr., on the beach.

I’m no great shakes as a photographer, but I was pretty pleased with all of these.

Very nice. I particularly like the dragonfly; you did a great job getting it in such sharp focus while it was flying, and it stands out beautifully against the background. And that really is some sunset.

I’m away from home at the moment (in San Francisco for the holidays), so don’t have access to most of my pictures, although i haven’t taken many this year. I did, however, spend some time yesterday in the botanical gardens in Golden Gate Park, chasing birds and flowers. Some of my favorite shots from my little expedition are below. It’s probably too many, but what the hell:

Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park

Bee

Unknown bird

Hummingbird: 1 2 3

Flowers: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

Sorry, i’m not much good on the names of the birds and flowers.

Thanks, I’ve always enjoyed looking up through the leaves!

Thank you, I’m pleased with the dragonfly shot as well, and it took quite a while to capture! And I have to admit to some photoshop editing on colors and saturation on the sunset picture…it was quite a colorful sunset, and I just exaggerated it a bit on the computer.

And yours are wonderful! I especially like the flower shots with the macro lens. Very cool, I’d print and put on my wall!

One more time…

Sleepy bear

A lobster dog!

And a most distinguished gentleman.

Hehehehe…in that second picture it looks like he is giving the finger only minutes after being born! Quite a talented kid you’ve got there.

Great shots so far!

Here are my faves from 2008:
Playin’ with my macro at the NYPL
My favourite Nuit Blanche installation
A long exposure of Palmers Rapids

There are also plenty of kitteh pix, but I’ll save those for a show-your-pets-off thread.

Now THAT photo would be incredible as a full color wall size!

These pictures aren’t outstanding in any real way except for what was happening that caused us to photograph it. My SO is actually a wonderful camara man, but theses are all jut digital shots, none of his good shots are uploaded.
This was during the past summer, and the entire episiode of duck vs dog lasted for a very long time.

This was a cloud moment that I love for some reason.

This was during a tornado, that ripped through most of the state.

This was the sun shining through the clouds right after said tornado

And the aftermath

And finally, this is may favorite picture from our only snow last winter. I have no idea why, I just love it.

Shayna is that a manecoon? We have two, they’re beautiful cats.

I am also loving all the Ireland pics, I want to go threre so bad! It’s amazingly gorgeous!

Here’s some pictures I took at Starved Rock in Utica, IL this fall.

I took this one a couple of days ago.

I like the colors in the shot, but the bird is a bit out of focus. Oh well, I was standing on ice and trembly cold!

I just set that as my desktop background. Lovely winter image.
