Best "Screw you, Nazis!" Ever - I love this video!

It’s not this place, Ogre, it’s people. People suck, god love 'em.

I know, I edited my post before your correction.

Without permission to use the song, apparently.

Sure it is, but it’s still kind of hollow since Hitler can’t see it.

Dio, how the hell do you arrive at this conclusion? If HE is alive, how does it follow that ALL the Nazis are dead? Hello?

We can’t know that all the Nazis are dead until about… 2025? Depending on who you count… if you count brownshirts, hell, we can’t be sure they are all gone until maybe 2030, 2040… they got 'em young.

And…? MCB: grandkids can’t participate Me: They can do as they please. Dio: they can’t violate copyright Me: they didn’t, mom made the video Dio: without permission

Dio… are ya just having a bad day? Week? Year? I swear it’s like I hear that Debbie Downer “wah wah” sound every time I read a post of yours…

Bah. He was a kid at the time. His captors were not. They’re all dead as doornails. Can you show a cite for any of the Nazis at Auschwitz still being alive and at large?

I thought of that after I posted it. There are still a bunch of Nazi wannabe’s that deserve a distraction from their tiny penises.

I would like to believe so, but what are the odds any ancient, still living Nazis are watching youtube?

Plenty of 21st century nazi skinheads to go around to appreciate the video.

The old man in the video is celebrating life. Anyone complaining about that has ceased living.

I’m not complaining about it, but apparently some other holocaust survivors are.

Plenty of nazi skinheads won’t give a fuck about this video and will dismiss it as memorial pornography.

No, Dio’s right, all commentary on the Holocaust is meaningless and pointless unless a former member of the National Socialist party personally views it.

DIO asking for cites?

I don’t need any. The war ended in 1945, 65 years ago. Any Nazi who was at that time between the ages of 18 and 40 could be alive today. (making them age 83 to 105 there aare many tens of thousands of centenarians in the world, not hard to imagine a few Nazis in there) The man in the video is 90 and he’s traveling, dancing, lucid and in good health, appearing in a You Tube video.

Why you think it’s impossible for there to be any 85 or 95 year old Nazis alive and capable of watching one is truly a mystery. (Especially since, from a health standpoint, concentration camp survivors had been through hell and stressed their physical bodies terribly, which could be reasonably thought to make them more fragile and likely to die earlier than Nazis who didn’t suffer like that.)

I see what you did there…

Oh, give it a fucking rest. Even if they are, 65 years after, they don’t give a shit anymore. They had stopped being Nazis long ago.
Of course, this does hurt your little Manichean worldview, but that’s the way it is.

All the Nazis who mattered, and who actually had anything to do with the camps are dead. It’s ridiculous to suggest that this tape is going to cause any of them, even hypothetically living ones, any distress. It isn’t any kind of real payback. It seems to have distressed more survivors than Nazis.

I don’t think it’s as outrageous or “disgusting” as some of the survivors are calling it, but if it bothers any survivors at all, I think it fails as any kind of statement.

I also think it’s kind of tacky for the grandkids to horn in on the video like that and suck up attention for themselves, especially since it appears that granddad might not have been all that into it himself. I suspect this might have been something his family members pushed him into for their own aggrandizment, not for his.

It is pretty rude to disturb other people when they are grieving. I know you’re trying to make out that those of us who are not in love with this video are like “screw you survivor, we love Nazis!”, but that’s not it. I have no problem with people living joyfully, celebrating survival, etc - hell, I have no issue with the underlying message of the video (ie. Nazis suck), and nobody else here does either. I just find the way they chose to do this kind of offensive.

Ah, the old “if I insult you and your feelings are hurt, that is your fault, not mine” argument. Look, even people who are overall joyful and happy can act somber and respectful when the situation requires. If you go to a funeral without a big grin plastered all over your face, are you one of the dreaded ‘Bummer People’ too? Do you sing and dance through every part of your life? Not every place and time is right for smiling and prancing around, and I happen to think that a mass grave of your former contemporaries who were less lucky than you is a particularly bad choice of places to act like that. And apparently some of the other survivors agree.

Of course it’s a free world. They are free to do that if they want to. You are free to like it and watch it every day and feel warm fuzzies if you want to. But that means I am also free to look at it and think it’s a bit disrespectful. And that doesn’t make me a big bummer person who is never joyful and loves Nazis.

Also, if you think **Guin **is agreeing with you, I’d reread what you quoted here. Note the :dubious:.

It was just silly.

If you think Stoid believes that Guin agrees with him, them you’re probably the one who needs to reread the exchange.
