Best seats in the house?

I’m going to The Forum in Inglewood and Barclays Center in Brooklyn this year and I’ve never been to either venue. I assumed that front row, dead center was the perfect spot in any venue but during my research I found this on Quora:

“In general, the bigger the venue the less desirable the very front row tends to be, as the stage height and the act’s distance from the front of the stage is greater in arenas and stadiums. You’ll find that VIP and “friend of the artist” tickets tend to be about 8 rows back in the center, providing an eye-level view and enough distance to take in the whole stage.”

Does this apply to The Forum and Barclays Center? What’s the best row if you want to be close to the band but not TOO close?

Edit: By “TOO close” I mean you end up filming speakers and the front of the stage itself and the band ends up being too high above you - I read this in another article but forgot to quote it.
