5 Miles, Let Go, Offer Up and others. Any idea who has the biggest buyer base? Other opinions from Dopers about different apps to resell your stuff?
I think Craig’s List still has the widest base, consider how fast I get responses there, but the interface is clu…nky
eBay, if anything you have to sell is more than just crap.
I get on to eBay to sell every couple years and it seems like they are always getting better in terms of ease of use. And while it still costs more to list there than CL, the tools and the reach can’t be beat. Listings and photos are free. The process from listing to shipping is idiot-proof. They give you an easy way to ship internationally (you don’t - you ship domestic and the buyer takes care of the second leg). I’ve had a 99% success rate with people following through on transactions and when they don’t, it’s easy to get your fees back and relist.
eBay is still where it’s at for me.
Except…I am the admin of a buy/sell Facebook group that focuses on baby & kids stuff and is restricted to my local area. Clunky interface for sure but since it’s local, people pick up instead of ship and there are zero fees. It’s like Craigslist but a ton less skeevy (since our group is private and you have to be invited in by a friend).
I always get tempted to try those other apps but my success on eBay makes it hard to stray.
