Guarana. Amazing. Popular in Brazil, a few importers in the USA. I heard once there was a bottler in Pennsylvania who made thge stuff. Like a fruity cream-soda.
Brio chinotto flavoured soda is a neat change of pace.
No discussion including Faygo should omit RedPop.
Jarritos Tamarindo.
I’ve never had a bad Jarritos, but tamarind is the best one, IMO.
Coco Rico Coconut Soda
Canfield’s Cherry Chocolate Fudge
Tommyknocker Root Beer
Barq’s Red Cream
Nehi Blue Cream
Snapple (remember when they had soda?) Root Beer
Wasn’t that clear (as in, see-through)?
Worf: A warrior’s drink.
Yep. No color whatsoever.
Sort of added to the fun. Very tasty, indeed!
Another vote for the Blenheim. Especially the Old #3 Redcap “Hot”. Puts a burn on your lips. Tastes like it would give you some awful heartburn but instead the ginger does the opposite and settles your stomach.
For sweet stuff my favorites are Virgil’s Black Cherry and Sprecher’s Cherry Cola.
Kroger Brand has “Cola Oh!”, which is a zero cal cola (Coke Zero rip-off) that I damn near prefer to Real Coke.
I had a few of those! Interesting stuff.
In college, we had “Bacardi & Jolt” parties.
Ninja’d. I came in here to say this exact thing. I also highly nominate thier mango and lime flavours.
I miss the original Pic-A-Pop - we used to have cases of it in the basement (everyone did) because it was super cheap. It came in glass stubbies.
Now with everything being nostalgic, you can buy it again, but it’s expensive.
Barq’s Red Creme Soda is still widely available in 12-pack cans around the New Orleans area. Haven’t seen two-liters of it anywhere since the 1990s, though.
Big Red is available locally in 2-liter bottles – but not in cans
My favorite flavor, cherry red.
I came in to say no discussion of Faygo should omit Rock n Rye…
Bundaberg lemon lime & bitters.
Very refreshing and not sweet. Great on a hot day or with some good rum.
Gotta second Birch Beer. Polar still makes it and you can find it occasionally here in the Northeast. I’ll never understand why it didn’t become more popular. I love this stuff!
Choice gets really limited outside MI. It’s one of the things I miss being in central IN now. Getting flavors past Red, Orange, Grape, and Moon Mist drops off a lot. The place I was getting Rock and Rye stopped carrying it. My excitement over a Meijer opening near me died when I realized they stopped carrying Faygo for their own store brand.
For me, Rock and Rye has to be on the list. The cream soda and cola mix is pretty much my favorite soda flavor even including the major players.
Isn’t it everywhere there is a Coke Freestyle machine? I always go to regular root beer, but I’m pretty sure it’s in Freestyles.
Although we have a small chain down here (Tom + Chee shoutout!) that has it in a non-freestyle fountain. I always get it when we eat there. It’s also served in float form at the giant Coke store down here.
I’m also surprised no one has mentioned Vernor’s Ginger soda. It has to be made with crack because I’m addicted to the stuff.
