Many, many people find this album utterly worthless, and indeed, it is more than a bit ludicrous for Axl to even be using the name Guns N’ Roses anymore, since he’s the only member of that group still in the “band”. Still, ignoring the GN’R name on the cover, and thinking of this as strictly an Axl Rose solo effort, it ain’t all that bad, really.
It was a bit ludicrous of them to keep using the name after Tracii Guns left to reform LA Guns, but that’s kinda irrelevant. This was actually worse than Spaghetti, unbelievably, and is probably the third worst album in rock history. So, not voting.
I listened to this like once after it came out, and nothing gave enough of an impression on me to pick one as best. Nothing was horrible that I can remember, but it wasn’t anything I really needed to listen to again, either.
I can’t judge either. I really haven’t been inspired enough to listen to the whole thing. GnR was more that just Axl, and they started losing their way during Use Your Illusion with all the epic ballads, piano, and extra members.
I think I listened to it once on their Facebook page. It certainly doesn’t stack up against anything from Appetite For Destruction or Use Your Illusion. They’re certainly not the GNR of 20 years ago. Personally, I’d rather listen to Velvet Revolver or any of Slash’s other creative efforts.
