Best source for online movies - esp. classics

I’m trying to find a source for online movies and I suspect the Cafe Dopers might give me some places to start. I’m mostly interested in the older stuff - 50’s, 60’s, 70’s. The Crucible is the one I’m currently interested in.

Although free is good, I’m happy to pay a few bucks for good quality and let everyone get their proper royalties.

Take a look at Archive.org. They only have movies that are in the public domain or freely distributed by the copyright holder, so you won’t find too many mainstream Hollywood films, but they do have lots of cult films (“Carnival of Souls,” “Night of the Living Dead”) and even some popular classics (“His Girl Friday” is public domain? How did THAT happen?)

ETA: Of course there’s Hulu, which is better known for TV shows but has some great feature films (“Chaplin,” “Spartacus”).

Definitely archive.org, if you’re talking classics. No better source. FWIW I did a thread on pretty much the same subject recently.
