What's the best site for streaming old movies?

I’ve turned down invitations to NYE parties because I’d rather stay home and watch classic old movies from the 30s, 40s, and 50’s. I have Netflix and Amazon prime, but unless I’m missing something, the old classics they have for streaming are pretty limited. Youtube is a bit hit-or-miss, and I’d rather have a site where I can peruse a list of available films than having to type in the titles.

Any recommendations?

Where I live (central Mass.), the best bet for classic movies is the DVD section of the public library. Free, of course, and I can order any film from any library in the state. Best quality and none of the BS of the various streaming sources.

TCM has an app, but you need to have a cable subscription for login. The TCM app usually has the last 7 days or so of all of their programming.

Thanks much. Libraries are great for DVD’s, but what I really want is a streaming site because I can’t always plan ahead.

Alas, I cut back to a very basic cable subscription (10 channels) and don’t get TCM any longer. It’s maybe the one channel I really miss. :frowning:

Do you have a Roku streaming stick? Roku has several free old movie channels. P.S. TCM is the only reason I have cable.

Give Filmstruck a try. They have a 14-day free trial which includes access to the Criterion Collection.

The Internet Archive (archive.org) has thousands of movies available for view by streaming. I watched Casablanca there just yesterday.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Great suggestions! I KNEW I was asking the right people!
