Best TNG episode(s) for someone who doesn't like sci-fi/action

The Most Toys. That’s the one I came in to mention.

The one where they visit the Planet Of The Scantily Clad Aerobics Instructors. Two things stand out for the non-SF fan: (1) Wesley gets sentenced to death and almost gets killed, and (2) you can gawk at The Scantily Clad Aerobics Instructors.

Of several genders!

This is(was) my girlfriend. We went through the original series. I chose that because:

  1. The interpersonal relationships between Kirk/Spock/McCoy surpass by far anything found in TNG, and thus there is much more to hang onto on an episode-by-episode basis. I find it easy to just enjoy Shatner’s Kirk, or the way Nimoy handles Spock, or the way they play off of each other, even when the episode is poorly written.

  2. While both shows are dated, TOS is old enough that you ‘know’ it’s old, and can enjoy the camp elements. TNG is just as dated as TOS, but feels more contemporary. I feel like I have to apologize for TNG a lot, while watching TOS I can just say, “the series was written way back in the 60s, let’s have fun!”
