Best travel pillow for sleeping on a plane

I’ve got a couple of overnight flights coming up and I’m much too poor to pay for four first class tickets but I do have enough to purchase four travel pillows. I have one of these. It’s OK but not great. I can’t tell if this ostrich pillow is supposed to be a gag or a real thing. Either way, I’m not interested in it.

What works best for you?

I just use a traditional u-shaped neck pillow, but one that’s inflatable so I can adjust the firmness. I also use ear plugs and an eye mask. But really, I’m mostly resigned to the fact that I’ll sleep like shit no matter what and just try to plan my activities for the next couple days in a way that will help me get over the jet lag.

I dunno, there are days when doing the face plant in the ostrich pillow feels like the right thing to do!

As someone who at least twice a year spends 40-50 consecutive hours in transit to far-away places, I am always on a quest for the Perfect Travel Pillow. So far the closest I’ve come is the Ostrich Pillow, but not the crazy head-in-the-sand version - there’s a more conventional neck wrap one: Ostrich Pillow

I loved it - I could sleep in an aisle seat, it supported me in every direction, and it was really comfortable! It’s a little pricey, so that’s a drawback, but if I can get where I’m going without being completely sleep deprived, it’s definitely worth it to me.

Safe travels!
