Best Value in a Car Lease under $200

A while back I posted about buying a used Volvo. I may need to lease an auto in the near future. I had seen an ad on tv (and can’t remember which manufacturer) for something about $150/month. What is the best value in a car lease between $150-200? I’d prefer an American auto but am not wedded to the idea.

I don’t have an answer, but keep in mind the lease rates can depend on how much you put down at signing. Some of the commercials I see have decent rates but want like $5000 down or something.

Value guru Clark Howard despises car leases as they are VERY seldom a good value.

I think VW has been pushing a $160/mo $2000-ish at signing deal on the cheapified Jetta. Maybe that’s what you’re thinking? It looks like Hyundai has a similar deal for the Elantra. If you really must lease, those are both pretty okay cars.

Here’s an article on the best leases under $200/month.

Also, you can get a base model Fiat 500 for $199/month and no money down.

Greasy Jack and Tom Tildrum, thank you!
