Best way to block bouncemenet from my email?
What type of e-mail do you have? Outlook? Gmail? Hotmail? Yahoo?
Outlook. I know it might not be the best, but its what I’ve had for years and I really would rather not change.
You can set up a rule to automatically filter messages from bouncemenet.
I personally set up a folder called “Don’t bug me” and sent filtered messages there so I could check to make sure it wasn’t accidentally filtering off messages that I actually wanted.
If they are always coming from the same source, you can just right click on one of those messages and set up a rule to always send mail from that sender to junk. If they aren’t always coming from the same location, you can filter on text, such as “bounceme” in the mail title, to do the same thing.
I kid you not, I first read the OP as ‘best way to buy a bayonet by mail’. I think I need to get my eyes checked again.
What is bouncemenet?
From a quick google search, it’s apparently a web site ( bounceme dot net ) that’s sending viruses that, when activated, display authentic-looking but bogus Windows errors that are hard to get rid of.
The problem is that when “I set up a rule”, the address is 65rrewbouncenet. There is no point in setting a rule for this address because the next spam coming is 43fffubouncenet. I tried to erase the new part of the address (65rrew) and just set a rule for bouncenet, but this doesn’t work. New bouncenet spam comes right in.
Are you using “bouncenet” or “bouncenet”? the * is a wild card character.
I using bounce(dot)net. This address is what I need to block. No asterisks.
try blocking @.bounce.*
Thanks, i’ll give it a try.
