Specifically, a sender who posts on Facebook. This sender clogged my Hotmail e-mail Inbox with twenty-two e-mails overnight! Is there a specific link, or website, or something, to go to, in order to effect a block to keep from receiving e-mails from this particular source?
It would have to be done through your e-mail provider (hotmail) – you can block e-mails from certain individuals. I haven’t used hotmail in years, so you’d have to ask someone who does.
What kind of e-mails are these, are these? Since you said they’re from facebook, do you have it set up so you get e-mail notifications every time someone posts on your page? THAT could be the problem, not the person e-mailing you.
I keep getting e-mails from Jews for Torah…sometimes every 30 minutes or so, or even less. I sent a message to Microsoft, after calling my cell phone provider. The Facebook messages, which I can easily ignore, also appear in my Inbox, and with 22 of them (!!) there this morning I take them as harassment (I come from a telephone-company family and I know about harassing calls).
Jews for Torah is dead set against Christianity. Whoopee. I couldn’t care less about them saying that, but I certainly don’t want 22 messages of that philosophy cramming my Inbox! I have been waiting for some important messages and I need stuff like THIS like a hole in the head!
A simple solution that might work is to set up a rule that automatically drops messages from that sender into your deleted mail folder. This appears to be a guide that tells you how to do that kind of thing https://www.lifewire.com/move-or-create-future-rule-hotmail-1174253
Don’t just ignore the FB messages; block the sender within Facebook. That should stop FB from sending a copy to your e-mail.
Tell me more…I would like to know what to click on on the Facebook page to effect this procedure.
Thanks! I copied that procedure…I’ll never have to have them in my Inbox again.
Not sure if you’re serious, but I can’t see how your situation would be improved by trepanation.
And thanks to YOU…I’ll never see them on Facebook wasting my time…
Glad to help.
So you have your answer for Hotmail, and you have your answer for Facebook.
So I guess you finally have the full… _monty.
Oh, now THERE 'S a good straight line! Heh heh heh…
Can this procedure be reversed? Jews for Torah isn’t sending out messages like that any more, and I miss the ordinary communications I had been getting from friends on Facebook.
It looks like you can reverse the procedure this way:
"you can edit or cancel the rule Windows Live Hotmail set up:
Click the gear that appears next to Folders when you move the mouse over it.
Select Manage rules from the menu.
Click Edit next to the desired rule to change it.
Check an unwanted rule and click Delete to remove it."
Thanx
