I choked a little while eating rice a few days ago. I feel something tickling the back of my throat or perhaps in the sinuses. I suspect there is a grain of rice stuck back there.
Usually when this happens, I cough it out within a day or two, but now it’s already been five days and I still feel it there.
It’s not a huge problem, just a minor irritation. But just wondering how I can dislodge it. Should I get a neti pot? See a doctor? Or just wait it out?
It’s quite possible that there’s nothing stuck there at all and that you have merely slightly abraded the lining of your throat somewhere - this often feels exactly like something stuck there (minor scratches to the eyes are the same).
drink vinegar?
No proof that it works, but an idea. Admittedly, it is without any basis for justification.
I’ll be looking with extreme interest here.
Occasionally, I get a bit of food in a sinus for whatever reason, and whenever this happens, I end up with the most butt-kicking walloping head cold, followed by a week of feeling like crap.
I have always assumed that either the food triggers some “bad stuff going on here” reaction in the sinus or it actually is bearing a germy payload.
No matter what, I want to know how to immediately resolve the situation when it happens so that the bad cold doesn’t come.
