I feel like i have something lodged down my throat...

It feels like a lump, whenever I drink hot water it goes down a bit further but I cant quite get rid of it.

Its been there for about 2 days now.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of it? Its giving me a vomit reaction, should I just give in and try and vomit it out?

Could be a tumor. Go to a doctor.
Or it might be food jammed behind a tonsil, or a bruised or swollen something or other back there. I’ve had that but it went away after e few hours.
Could be a tumor. I am not a doctor, but I’m just sayin…could be a tumor.

(arnie voice) ITS NOT A TUMOUR
I seem to think it might be muecus, Ive got a doctors appoint scheduled anyway.

But suppose it is muecus, what should i do to get rid of it?

I had a similar thing when I swallowed a tine that broke off a plastic fork I was eating with. It nicked my throat on the way down and it felt like there was something there, but there wasn’t (I had a doctor look), it was long gone.

If that sounds right, you just have to ignore it, it will get better. If was mucus you should have been able to cough it up or swallow it by now.

I get that when I’m under stress. It feels like I’ve swallowed a pill that won’t go down properly. I’ve just chalked it up to a weird stress reaction, like maybe my throat gets tense or something when I’m agitated.

I’ve heard that 99% of people who go in because something feels “lodged” actually have a bruised esophagus. Everyone gets them at least once in their lives. It should go away in a week or two.

Can you see your tonsils? I occasionally get these things called “tonsil stones” which are collections of crap that grow in the spaces of the convolutions of your tonsils. The look like white growths on my tonsils and feel like something is stuck. They are benign and drop off by themselves. If you think this might be it, google tonsil stones.

Ok, this is gross. If it feels like a pube caught in your throat, it might be a sinus infection. Similar symptoms, unless you tend to swallow a lot of tic-tacs.
