I am creating a video to demonstrate how my department does a certain process in Windows. I’m using rudimentary screen capture software and it is creating a huge file (about 750MB for a 6 minute AVI  ). I can select a different codec, but I am restricted to the standard, built-in Windows codecs on this XP workstation.
Which one is the best one to use as far as compression:quality? I am not able to install any other codecs or software on this system and since this is a one-off slightly time-sensitive issue, building a case I can use to run a change request for adding software/codecs up the chain is not an option for me right now.
