The ides of March. I knew it had to be something. Here’s today so far.

  1. Receptionist quit without notice. Apparently yesterday was her last day.
  2. Then the telephone system goes down. The techs are here now while we are all walking around with our cell phones.
  3. 13 Gig hard drive on one of our CAD stations blows up. This is the machine with the $30K CaddStar CATV Fiber/RF design package on it. We bill that work at about $100/hr, so we’ll lose two days minimum of billable time there. I just inherited the management responsibilities for that SOB on Monday; you might say I lacking a bit of familiarity with it and tech support from these bastards is non-existent.

I hope that’s it; I really can’t take any more today.

SO? I thought you were an engineer! Pull out your swiss army knife and go fix that sucker instead of spreading your tale of woe on the SDMB. Then you can use the big blade on that knife for an interesting little “chat” with Tech Support.

Well, I’m going in for my eye exam in a couple of hours, so if there was ever a time when they’d replace that cataract detection machine with one that has spring-loaded needles, I guess today is the day.
