Bewitched - Cousin Serena

Finally, there is justice. I have a few friends that absolutely refused to believe that “Serena” was played by Elizabeth Montgomery. Well, here you are, my friends:

From Wikipedia
“Pandora Spocks is also the pseudonym of Elizabeth Montgomery, the actress who played both Samantha Stephens and her cousin Serena on the TV Show “Bewitched (1964-1972).” It was Montgomery who first created the name (a spin on Pandora’s Box) to use in the “Bewitched” credits for the character Serena. So any use of the name since or in the future should rightfully be credited to to the late, great Elizabeth Montgomery.”
I have to admit that it got me for a minute. I was watching “Bewitched” the other night and had just tuned in in time for the credits. Serena was played by Pandora Spocks. It really threw me for a minute until I sounded it out.

It was so obvious that Serena was Elizabeth Montgomery with a brunette wig. I betcha your friends thought that there were two Darrens, too! :stuck_out_tongue:

wh… why?

Probably because they were on the screen at the same time.

Break it to them gently. You might want to hold off on telling them that Jeannie’s dark-haired sister was also played by Barbara Eden.

And there really weren’t two identical cousins.

StG

Just had to pop in to defend the stupid friends. In their defense, they hadn’t actually seen the show since they were little kids…literally.

I, on the other hand, have basically watched in whenever it came on throughout my adult life. If it’s been 30 plus years since you’ve seen a particular show, you might get a bit of a pass.

By all means, don’t let them see Buster Keaton’s The Playhouse.

Did Serena live on Waveley Prace?

Or for that matter, The Parent Trap- either the original or the remake. (Actually, the remake may be even more confounding- the idea of one coherent Lindsay Lohan, let alone two, is pretty hard to grasp.)

OR “The City of Lost Children” where we have FIVE identical Dominique Pinons.

And don’t get me started on “Being John Malkovich.”

Or “Multiplicity,” but that’s only because it sucked.

Or any post-Beverly Hills Cop Eddie Murphy vehicle.

Or the 2 different Becky’s on Roseanne.

Oh wait. Never mind.

I had a childhood crush on Samantha and bad Jeannie, but Serena and good Jeannie did nothing for me. Well, not nothing, but definitely less.
