That article seems to actually hedge its bets a bit whether it’s a hoax, though with what the author could call tongue in cheek if somebody really proves it is fake. I’d guess it is fake if I had to guess.
Anyway that author says satire should be easily detectable and funny and so this isn’t properly called satire (even assuming it’s not straight up serious) because it’s neither. However I would guess the point of the writers is to show it’s not easy to tell fake loonie academic left type stuff from real loonie academic left type stuff. You have to actually look into it, compare various articles to find the ones stretching the straight faced pose the most etc. And it doesn’t really inspire confidence in (ostensibly) reasonable ‘regular’ liberals to say white women aborting their babies as political statement is no more loony than choosing Trump because he’s slightly less bad than Clinton in one’s opinion. One could have the opposite opinion and think was quite a bit worse than Clinton, that’s not crazy at all either. But IMO it shows the tendency to detachment from reality on the ostensibly ‘reasonable’ left to seriously say these (probably) fake articles are on the same level as saying Trump is 1% less bad than Clinton. But maybe that statement was satire too.
One could have the opinion Trump is quite a bit worse than Clinton I meant. Nothing loony about that, or in thinking Clinton is worse. Both are within the range of reasonable political opinions IMO.
What is happening at Evergreen is not because of critical race theory. Critical race theory has been around for decades, I’ve taken full-year classes in critical race theory and nothing that happened at Evergreen ever remotely happened in my classes. Those shitstains at Evergreen may be using it as a vehicle for their intolerance, but it is not the thing in itself. Stop conflating them. It weakens the argument against radical intolerance for those of us who actually know what liberal academics look like.
This is like the argument that when a suicide bomber screams “Allahu Akbar”, and explicitly claims to be motivated by his religion, it actually has no connection whatsoever to Islam, because most Muslims are peaceful and civilized people.
Of course not all left-wing academics in the social sciences are like the loons at Evergreen. But the roots of the ideology of the radical left that is in opposition to many traditional liberal values (and to Enlightenment values in general) certainly do lie in postmodernism, and notably some tenets of Critical Race Theory.

Just this week a couple of slightly less looney professors got yanked back hard by their places of work. Seems Trump has emboldened both sides of extremism to think they can say anything and get away with it.
