If this was true then God would not have allowed a monster to destroy His children,or punish all the innocent ones, because there were a lot of bad people(which He knew when he created them they would turn out bad! Then have lot rot in Hell because they didn’t follow rules that some human said were His rules. All of His creatures would know His rules, not just one or two, nor would he pick out one group of people and have them slay a whole city, just so they could have the land! Such a human father would be put in jail for child abuse!
How can one love, serve and know something, or one, that is unknowable, and only hear of it through some humans who are in disagreement of what this supreme being is?
If this being wants people to be happy His actions do not show it if one believes what the Bible teaches. He has favorites like David and Moses who were not very nice people, to lead His chosen ones, when He has the power to let all people know Him? A good father lets all his children know him, and doesn’t depend on one of his children to teach the others, and an all knowing being(unlike a human parent) knows ahead of time that the message he would present is muddled up, made up or used to control his other children!
What happens on earth reflects what happens in the heavens. Look to Genisis for your answer. God divided Adam into Adam and Eve. Same thing would have to be for God, God divided Himself into Daddy and Mommy.
Way back in the day, Yahweh used to have a consort named Asherah.
I’m assuming she was hotter in person than in clay.
This described Satan’s misuse of God’s system. What happens at one level (earth, hell, heaven) happens at all levels. In the beginning we were given the plants to eat. After that incident with Adam and Eve and the serpent, God allowed us to eat animals because that’s what demons do with us. You can see this in Ps 44:22, Rom 8:36).
Satan’s system is take advantage of the weaker, God’s is that the weaker are our children. The system is as you treat others you will be treated. We get to chose what system we want.
The Jewish God still has a feminine aspect - the Shekhinah. Some say that it’s a remnant of more widespread female-oriented religious practices.
The Jehova Witnesses tell me it has. Sometime around 1914. Satan was cast down to the Earth, and we are living in some kind of end times.
Actually, that’s pretty much the story being told in Black Sabbath’s song Iron Man. The character in the song travels to the future, witnesses an apocalypse, and somewhere in there he gets turned into “Iron Man”. He then travels back to his own time and attempts to warn everybody about what’s coming, but nobody will listen and he’s mocked and shunned. This makes him very, very angry and he goes berserk, causing the very apocalypse he was trying to warn them about.
Does Satan have free will? His entire existence is pretty much spelled out for all to see, supposedly predetermined by his creator. While we still have some mystery to our lives and can choose which paths we will take, he is stuck with a doomed flight plan with no way out. If this is true, can he called evil?
I guess he could be: Satan may not know the future like God does, and isn’t sure that his cause is indeed doomed.
On the other hand, Satan may feel he might as well go out swinging. (Throw me into a UFC Octagon against a real athlete, and I wouldn’t last very long at all; but I figure losing while trying to fight back is better than losing while crying like a little girl and wetting my pants.) In fact, the entire futility of the whole thing may actually feed into feelings of frustration, anger, and resentment, assuming Satan has human like emotions and perspectives.
Satan has even better knowledge of God’s power than we do, and access to the same Bible foretelling his every doomed move. He is no more that a forced actor with a titanium script-a puppet.
Seems to me Satan (assuming he exists) has been pretty successful turning people away from god. Not all his moves are doomed.
Heck, I know I’m just gonna end up being a bloated stinking corpse some day (possibly within the next 15 years), but I still go through the motions of living a life, trying to find happiness.
Yes, he was turned to steel in the great magnetic field when he traveled time for the future of mankind.
