Bibliovore & Biblophage

Guys,

Don’t your names mean the same thing ?

Just wondering…

Sort of.

bibliophage is consistent in that it’s all Greek.

biblion - G - book
phagos - G- eating

bibliovore is mixed Greek and Latin

biblion - G - book
vorare - L - to swallow, devour

Also, a -phage is a microscopic thing that eats the suffix
A -vore is a macroscopic thing that eats the suffix.

I thereby deduce, without having met either bibliophage or bibliovore that bibliophage is a tiny wee person and bibliovore is a great big person.

Curly Chick - that’s the thing I wanted to know…

Nice one…

And from Dublin too - well whaddaya know !

Hi Tarantula, there are a few of us here, you know, why don’t you come out and play on Friday night?

Anahita’s night out

I’d love to CC but my wife and I are going to Milan for the w/end, to see the inlaws…

You’ve no idea how sorry I am. Seriously.

What? You’d rather go to Milan than meet US?

hrmph

(have some gelatto for me!)

Howdy All,

Haven’t been checking in for awhile, so I thought I’d do a vanity search, and whaddya know - my name appears in a thread title!

Coolest thing that’s happened to me in awhile, but in answer to your OP, yes, they pretty much mean the same thing. When I first signed up, I originally wanted Bibliophage as my username, but as it was already taken, i decided to keep the meaning but go for the much cooler (and more ferocious) sounding Bibliovore.

Anahita - I sure will. I like-a da ice-a cream-a… impression of my wife… har-har…

It will be even sweeter if AC Milan get booted about tomorrow night by Juventus (my team…)

:evil grin:
