Come on now, be reasonable. Sure, we’re the only country that doesn’t have sick leave, but it’s not like the countries with sick leave have a rail system nearly as robust as ours. US trains are the envy of the world, right? You can’t have a top-notch set of choo-choos and ALSO care about the health of the cogs. Workers. I meant workers.
You do realize of course that just because you aren’t one of those affected being thrown under the bus, that this lumps you into comfortably into the “everybody else” ( on the bus )category, don’t you? Each person’s line of work running the gamut from railroaders to paper-pushing sinecures, comprises a very small percentage of the overall total.

Of course the US allows sick pay. Many companies offer it.
…I meant obliged to pay sick pay. As in: the state mandates you must provide a set amount of sick pay per year. While some states require this: it isn’t fderally mandated.
