“Larry Correia”. The Monster Hunter Guy?
You read that because the same people intent on spreading racist and xenophobic lies about Obama are using the same playbook on Harris (and ignoring the same Constitution)
No, it’s complete bullshit. She was born in the US. There have been several presidents with parents born outside the US.
Just a little bit of weirdness early this morning…
Middle of the night trip to the twalet, go to Wikipedia on my tablet, front page obituaries has one for a professional wrestler.
Named Kamala Harris.
Died 2 days before the nomination.
When I woke up again to start the day, I was certain I had either dreamed it, or it was a primo example of vandalism (esp. since the article on him didn’t exist until a day after his death). But Google apparently confirms that he was real. Maybe-all articles are obits written within the last 3 days.
Please correct the people who told you that. Here’s what the White House says:
And here’s what the Constitution says:
And here’s what a natural born citizen means:
You’ll be more effective at stopping this misinformation spread among conservatives than I will be, since I’m a wild-eyed radical. If you put some serious effort into correcting this bit of misinformation, it’ll be a service to your country.
Harris is - or is claiming to be - more progressive than her previous record indicates. She says she’s “evolved” on pot and now supports legalization. We’ll see. And she’s still defending her approach to truancy.
She wasn’t my first choice, nor my last, but she’s a good strategic choice and whatever her progressive or establishment credentials there’s nothing there that would remotely tempt me not to vote for Biden/Harris.
Heh. My first thought after the announcement was “And suddenly Maya Rudolph’s phone starts ringing off the hook.”
I’ve already seen the trolls come out with “She’s a Muslim!” Because of course they have.
Dude, our last President’s parents were immigrants.
Within the past fifty years or so, serious Republican candidates for the presidency or the nomination have included Barry Goldwater (born in the Arizona Territory, before it was a state), John McCain (born in the Panama Canal Zone) and George Romney (born in Mexico). Also, Nikki Haley and Bobby Jindal, both of whom were born in the US of Indian immigrant parents. And based on his birthdate, Jindal wasn’t even conceived in the US.
I don’t know where you read this. But nobody who writes this, or says this, believes it.
It is simply a lie, an intentional, knowing lie.
It is, of course, pure, unadulterated racism. What’s really being said is not that Senator Harris is barred from the office of the presidency because of her parents’ birth, but that she is barred because she is Black.
That’s it. That’s all there is to it. There is no other possible interpretation. Nobody believes it. Nobody. Those who say, or write, it are doing so because they can’t get away with saying that a Black person should not, or cannot, be president. They think they’ve found a way to say exactly that in more polite language.
That said, given our current president’s track record, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear it from him, or from surrogates. He said it about Barack Obama, and he said it about Ted Cruz. I fully expect him to spout the same lie during this campaign.
Where parents are born is completely irrelevant. What matters is where she was born and that she has been a 14 year resident.
Okay, please help me out here.
Where did you read this?
Did you make ANY attempt to check what you read before posting here?
Do you rely on any other information from that source?
Does your knowledge that that information is false - and readily confirmed to be false - affect your opinion re: that source?
Where did you read that? Was it a Facebook posting?
Where did you read this?
In his own post, right after he wrote it.
I’m soooo glad that urbanredneck has managed to completely derail this thread with a post he has no intention of coming back to.
I just want to see if he answers “I saw it on Facebook” so I can laugh at him.
You can laugh without needing to see his response. Of course it was on Facebook.
To be fair, he could have read it in post #849 of this very thread - you know, the post that instantly debunked it 28 posts before he even asked the question.
I know it was on Facebook. Getting people to admit it and then laughing at them makes my day go by faster.
I read somewhere that urbanredneck2 does not check his sources at all, and repeats easily debunked lies from dubious sources. I also heard from someone that when called on his false information, he does not return to a thread.
Is this true?
