I liked the way they did it this episode. I can see them referring to things that happened “off-screen” for the rest of the season. Some things are better when left to your wild imagination. Like the night the heater went out.
I got the feeling Penny went to Star Trek out of missing Leonard and caring about his interests.
That and it was a hit movie. She was lonely without her buds so she went out for some entertainment.
I thought it was neat how Penny tried to show Leonard he should be more in touch with how Sheldon was feeling and to be more compassionate with his friend.
My rating for the most laughs on the show would go:
Penny (her comic timing and lines have gotten better with each episode)

I liked Raj’s comment to Wolowitz…“I should have gone over there to tell her we were back.”

Shoot, even I remember the Kitty song. My fiancee thought it was funny and made me sing it to him when he was sick. Yes, I voluntarily sang the Kitty Song.
They could really milk it if Sheldon falls into a deep depression afterwards, and eventually reveals that
he was fully prepared to loathe it, critique & mock it unmercifully. Instead, he liked it, and cannot bear the shame.
Because it’s Hollywood.
I had a gut reaction against the line “She can take care of whatever Third-world demon’s running around inside you”, BUT then I recalled that I’ve known people in my Charismatic circles who might have thought that, if not said it. And for many Charismatics, there’s no insult implied in that. One can catch a demon as easily as one can catch a cold, and can just as easily cast it out (which you seldom can do with a cold.)
She did have another great line “Oh, they knew why they hated you, Sheldon.”
Yeah! Where do they get off with slightly?

Agreed, in fact I think it’s a way of saying “*You *are a wonderful and perfect child of God,” meaning, therefore that anything imperfect which comes out of you must be coming from a demon.
I found it creepy that he couldn’t talk to her. I thought Moms would be in a different category than women he found attractive. It had a yucky “Stacy’s Mom” feel to it. . .
It still amazes me how people see things so differently. It’s a good thing! But it’s still amazing to me, as a nit picker even, how little things still annoy us.
I thought this was a great episode, start to finish. Instead of having anything linger, they got it over with. The Antarctic trip, the sex, everything. It’s not a reset, as they have shown to learn from previous episodes and bring things up, but it gets them back to their lives. That seems normal and right to me.
And the funny lines! The entire scene with the mother was awesome!

I liked it. Even mediocre BBT is still great television.
He seems to have the same impediment in the Geico commercial.

I always wonder where this version of the meme came from. Yes huddling together for warmth can be necessary and embarrassing, but how does it help to huddle naked? Huddling together clothed is much more warmth producing. The only time it makes sense to get naked first other than as foreplay is if you’ve fallen in ice water and need to get out of wet clothes.

It felt like Penny’s and Leonard’s sex- a lot of anticipation but after it was done, no big deal. There were some moments, but I expected better writing. Surely there are better makeup artists than the guys that came up with those obviously fake beards. The guy that talks like Elmer Fudd isn’t funny at all, just annoying. And it looks like the writers want to rid themselves of the Penny-Leonard couple thing as quickly as possible. I found it very disappointing and a rare Monday where How I Met Your Mother was the better of the two shows.
