Big Bang Theory 09/28

The whole cricket hunt was hilarious. Penny and Leonard, not so much.

What did y’all think?

Better than last week - but not all that much. I think I’m getting tired of Lewis Black’s same old. Identify every insect and arachnid on earth? Yeah - right!

I just barely enjoy watching this show most of the time. So like most episodes this was a C+ like thing for me.

Well, there was one thing. I have the comic that Sheldon loses to Wolowitz. Wonder if its value will jump on eBay this week.

OTOH, a complete waste of Lewis Black. They needed to have him go into a full tilt rage. Black’s partial rage is worse than no rage at all.

I like the fact that Leonard lost. To Wolowitz.

Better than last week to be sure. But I don’t think it was in character for Sheldon to pursue the cricket down the elevator shaft, he’s too much a wuss for that. As far as the cricket bet went, I don’t see how they could have established that the specimen they collected was the same that produced the chirps that led to the bet. Finally, I want to see more steamy sex with Leonard and Penny.

So far this season with Leonard and Penny hooking up, the sexual tension is gone and the show’s not as funny. Now it’s Penny and Leonard, and then there’s the other three guys, instead of Penny vs. the geeks. My guess is that there’s a breakup down the road that will restore the old (and funnier) arrangement. Last night’s episode was not a particularly memorable one. The scene with the entomologist was drawn out and way overacted.

I really hate to admit this but it wasn’t until last night that I realized the double entendre of the show’s title.

This episode was okay but as soon as they broke out the Schnopps I said “oh goody; we’ll get to watch them puke in the next scene”

Not overacted : that’s just how Lewis Black is in real life :). He has a speech impediment that only goes away when he’s enunciating like a motherfuck and/or screaming. So he does that.

OTOH, I agree with ftg : I kept expecting Sheldon to say something that would make him fly into a primal ranting frenzy. That’s really when he’s at his best, mere exasperation doesn’t work for him. Then again, I suppose they have to keep the show PG rated…

So, he’s this generation’s John Cleese, is he?
