I’m sure this has been asked before, but: Has it ever been revealed what Penny’s last name is? We know the last names of the rest of the principals including Bernadette and Amy, but not hers.
No, it hasn’t. The producers have kept it a secret for unknown reasons.
Arcade? Candy? Farthing? Whistle? Pincher? Ante? Wiseandpoundfoolish?

I think they are saving it for some sort of big joke. I hope it’s clever, and not just that the name itself is silly.
An example of making a joke out of a name just came up on CSI. Marg Helgenberger’s character is named Catherine Willows. This name is nothing special, but the title of the character’s farewell episode made me hope (though not believe) that the name was picked all those years ago just for this joke. The episode involved bad guys after Catherine such that she had to hide out and her teammates had to figure out where she was as if she were a suspect. The episode was titled Willows in the Wind.
