Big Bang Theory (spoilers needed!)

Mrs. Homie thinks Alex’s character is being developed as a disruption to the Leonard/Penny relationship.

Thoughts?

You know, I’m having mixed feelings about Penny. I still love the character but I’m not digging her apathy towards Leonard.

But yeah, I agree with your wife. And it would be a welcomed disruption IMO. I think it’s time for Penny to be the one who has to feel insecure for a change.

Penny seems to have been subsumed into an extended Drew Barrymore imitation.* The sideways smile and other expressions are just out-of-the-blue new to the Penny character.

I absolutely snorted with laughter over Sheldon’s revenge prank. But the pathos of his plea for privacy was also illuminating. I like that they are humanizing him slowly. I mean, really, who woudl have thought that he yearned so for anything? Somebody cue AFF to book a trip in a Superliner Roomette. . . hubba, hubba!

*Wanna know how old I am? Not only did I forget her name, but to find it I googled “E.T.”. That, my friend, is olde.

Penny did say love for the first time.

Although I enjoy all the characters, I do agree with you – there is no need to feature every single one in each and every episode. Having one with just the original core cast was refreshing!

I think that it is very “Sheldonesque” to crave privacy like that.
But it was very humorous!

Great idea. Penny and Leonard will never work out. She belongs with Sheldon.

And another thing …

My first thought on seeing the “43” was wondering if they deliberately picked one-off from THHGTTG’s 42 for a reason.

Yep.

Well that’s not true. I could do something like that in about an hour.

Leonard’s mom.

A little surprised that Raj got that wrong. (Maybe he was just tired.) It can’t be prime because screwing up its divisors is one of the jokes from HHGTTG, i.e. The Ultimate Question to which 42 is The Ultimate Answer:

“What do you get if you multiply six by nine?”
“Six by nine. Forty two.”
“That’s it. That’s all there is.”
“I always thought something was fundamentally wrong with the universe.”

I don’t think you can say he is currently one of the interns since they killed him quite dead. I assumed it was so he could go to his Alphas gig.

I don’t think he is borderline at all. His American accent is very good.

Crud. This is the problem with Bones having so many interns. You just can’t keep track of them all.

I agree. I think it’ll be interesting to see Penny be the jealous one for a change.

It was a pretty climactic episode a season or two ago. Hyped in a “Someone will die this week!!!” Kind of way.

Best line of the episode: Why would he tie up Stephen Hawking?

This video will be of interest to folks in this thread, I think.
