I set my DVR to record tonight’s “Big Bang Theory” (the 43 solution). All went well until the very end, when Sheldon enters his special room, the light turns on, he walks toward the table and blackboard…
and my DVR decided the show was over and stopped recording.

He takes a hackey-sack out of his bag and starts playing with it, counting each bounce. He gets up to 8 and it falls on the floor, and Sheldon says, “Drat! I’m never going to get to 43 again…” and starts to bounce it around again. After the blackout, you hear “Drat!” again.

Same thing happened to me. But I also recorded 2 1/2 Men and the end was at the beginning of that recording.

I was waiting until I got to that part to refresh this page but as soon as I saw him my first thought was “they’re both him”. Appears I was right. Jon Cryer has pretty a pretty distinct face, specifically his lips. They came through in the makeup.
I don’t like Penny’s new look. Way too “dumb blonde” for this show. Also awarding 2 dings for no AFF or Bernadette. I’l refund half a ding for no Stuart. And refund another half ding for Alex. She’s cute.
Otherwise, I liked the episode. Had some funny moments, including Sheldon’s bit about the English guy being a hypnotist and having the time of his life while Penny is pecking like a chicken, complete with Sheldon adding blowjob head movements without realizing what he’s conveying.
Loved Sheldon’s gotcha on Raj & Howard.
Liked clueless Leonard being hit on by Alex. Maybe she can jello-wrestle Penny in the finale…
Oh, he knew exactly what he was conveying; when he mentions the guy might be a hypnotist, he says, “She might be performing sexual acts with him and not even know it.” When Leonard tells him he’s being ridiculous, he responds with, “Oh, am I? The mind’s a mysterious thing, Leonard. He could be having the time of his life while she thinks she’s a chicken pecking for corn.”
I thought it was okay, but yes, missing the group dynamic of all of them together. Howard and Raj aren’t really a dynamic duo by themselves.

Well . . . I knew that if I brought it up, you would cry, and then I would cry . . .
They need to develop Alex more- she is hot. Good that they don’t feel the need to have everybody appear in every episode. There just wasn’t anything for Bernadette and Amy to do, so no need to even shoe them. The special effects for the Sheldon prank were a bit too good, no way could one guy pull that off so well.
Sheldon’s obliviousness to Alex’ coming on was totally believable. I’m told that I’m the same way. By, among other people, my wife. If they hadn’t exaggerated it for TV, I might’ve actually missed it on the show, too.
So apparently the whole “Stewart is a regular now.” thing has disappeared into one of those dark sucky things that don’t even let light out.
Penny’s study buddy is Ryan Cartwright, who is currently one of the interns on Bones but most memorably to me was Lane Pryce’s assistant in season 3 of Mad Men.
A somewhat better episode than recent ones, no doubt due to keeping the body count of main cast members down allowing fuller story lines. But the gap between what’s happening on-screen and with the laugh track was even worse than usual.

He’s also a regular on Alphas, wherein he plays a borderline autistic who can interface with wifi and radio. The guy’s fantastic- he seems to disappear into every role he plays. When we first started watching the show, it took us the better half of the episode to figure out it was the same actor who was on Bones.
