Big Brother 2012

Interesting show last night. Sofar we’ve got two strong people trying to determine if either can trust the other (which would be a great way to get to the final 2) and a handful of people flying under the radar. Frank and Shane really need to get a secret alliance going. Frank because Shane is a strong competitor, and Shane because I’ll bet he’s Brittany’s sole survivor after the next vote.
Joe and Wil are expendable. They don’t appear to have any strategy at all, other than following their leader. Ian, after a weird start, has settled into a little spot where he’s totally ignored.

Danielle is totally expendable, but I’m betting it’s Jojo sent to the bus stop tonight.

Willie Hantz arrested:

Kinda funny - a friend of mine was on vacation last week so he’s slowly trying to catch up. We were talking about it at lunch and he was talking about some moves Willie could make so I didn’t really say anything.

About an hour later, he comes over to my desk and shows me this article on his phone. “I guess Willie went home, huh?” That had to be a slightly surreal way to find out about the situation.

What’s this BS about letting America vote on whether the coaches join the game? It was obvious from the start that they needed more than 12 players. It’s 16 weeks isn’t it? Once Bonerhead was kicked, they has another week to fill to make a full season.
Cheap @$$ CBS, soaking people a buck to vote when I’ll bet they planned on shoving the coaches in all along. /rant

It wouldn’t be the first time they cooked up results for an America’s Vote. Remember Brendon coming back in last season?

I’m really sick of returning players in non-All Stars seasons of reality shows. The coaches thing was a good idea. Gives the viewers some people they already know but shouldn’t screw things up too badly. But now, of course, they’ll have the coaches in now one way or another. I’m guessing that if America votes no, then when a coach’s last player goes, the coach will enter the game.

I’m also now convinced that, just like with Boston Rob on Survivor, the producers are setting up the third try to get Janelle the win.

No comments on the Sunday show? Has the enthusiasm fizzled out already?

Or are we all down with Olympic Fever?

Ha!

If the vote comes back 99% No and 1% Yes, Grodner will say that America voted yes and will then “offer” the coaches the “option” to enter the game. Totally up to them. If they opt not to enter the game, they will have to leave the house immediately and forfeit all money, including their weekly stipend.

CBS was coming in really garbled for me last night. I missed the first 45 min. of the show. I did catch the veto meeting. Did anything interesting/important happen during the rest of the hour? Is anything interesting happening at all?

I’m beginning to think Dr. Will was right. Ian has a great chance of winning the game. He’s unimpressive as a threat to anyone at this time. This cast is weak on character.

If the coaches come in at least I can hope Brittany gets evicted, otherwise, it appears she may be here a while.

I find it amusing that the Biggest Famewhore Of Them All is the only one who didn’t choose to take that offer…

Now that it’s all moot due to the reset, I found last week’s strategy pretty interesting.

Shane and Britney did a nice job conning Frank. Wil did a great job this week convincing Boogie’s team that he was so mad at Janelle that he wanted to jump ship. Boogie and Frank were both convinced they had Wil’s vote. Danielle also convinced them she’d keep Frank. So while they were confident in a 4-1 vote for Frank to stay, the reality is that it would have been a 3-2 to evict and Boogie’s head would have exploded.

Wil gets the MVP for best play this last week. Too bad it was utterly wasted thanks to another of Grodner’s stupid twists.

Random observations:

Last week the two one-player coaches (Dan & Britney) and their players formed a final four alliance based on the assumption that the coaches would enter the game. They figured it to shake out to be 4 on 4 on 4, with cracks in Janelle’s team and Boogie a universal target for everyone.

Dan indicated to Janelle in a funny, charming way that he was dying to enter the game. When she asked if he would do it if it was a choice he grinned like the cheshire cat and nodded yes in a way that cracked me up.

Somehow, inexplicably, Shane and Danielle are NOT viewed as a couple. (I don’t get that at all; it’s so obvious!)

Ever since Willie and JoJo left the house, everyone gets along with everyone. It’s bordering on weird, at least in the context of someone (me) who started watching BB11.

The endurance comp bled into BBAD, so I got to see the end of it:
Boogie out super early, Jenn followed right after.

Joe out shortly after, followed by Ashley and then Dan.

Janelle, Wil, Frank and Shane hung in there for a very long time – over two hours – but this comp was designed for the little people.

At the three hour mark Ian was shivering violently, Britney was the most miserable drowned rat you ever saw, and Danielle was just chillin. Eventually Ian couldn’t take it anymore, cut a deal and dropped.

Britney looked like she could go another hour, Danielle another day and a half. Feeling good about her final four Britney dropped.

Danielle wins HOH! Even better for her, she won a quick victory smooch from Shane.
This whole coach thing has left a really bad taste in my mouth. Let’s introduce people who have a lot of experience with the game, make them non-threatening so that everyone shares their strategies and secrets without second thoughts … and then reintroduce the coaches as players! Sorry, other players, hope you didn’t plan to actually use that strategy that your new competitors know all about. Also, hope you’re cool with those guys (who already have huge advantages) effectively having immunity the first three weeks of the game while you were scrambling for safety.

I know the producers have no integrity for gameplay, I just wish they didn’t make it so damn obvious.

I felt that way too, but the past few nights BBAD has been riveting from start to finish. Thank god I don’t have the feeds or I’d be watching them 24/7 this week. It’s just that good, and it’s only been good because of the vets.

Note that I started watching season 11, so I have no knowledge at all of Dan, Boogey, or Janelle other than what I’ve seen of them this season. Essentially, every player in the game is new to me except Britney.

Spoilered alliance/strategy breakdown and veto winner: (very long)
Dan is the center of the BB14 universe, and is rapidly becoming my favorite houseguest ever.

Dan continues to maintain his tight final four deal with Danielle, Britney and Shane, but that has always been his fallback. His primary concern was to get all four coaches at least as far as jury so they’d have a fighting chance in final 2 if it were a coach vs a newbie. His preference was always to have a final 2 deal with Boogie. That’s why he told Boogie Frank was walking out the door; he stuck his neck out with that move to prove to Boogie he wanted to work with him.

So the next day after Boogie was all grumpy as shown in Sunday’s broadcast, Boogie comes up with a crazy plan and pitches it to Dan: have Danielle pull Frank off the block (Danielle won veto, btw) and put Janelle up and send Janelle home. Then (much like the brigade) the three remaining coaches come together, each with their side person to form a final 6 on equal footing: Boogie with Frank, Dan with Danielle, Britney with Shane.

The six pack would have the best competitors and could steamroll to the end. Dan is reluctant, since he’s convinced he has no shot if the coaches aren’t on jury. Dan and his final four of Danielle/Britney/Shane meet to discuss it, and as insurance Dan decides to pull Ian in as a fifth. Ian will get full disclosure of everything, but will be on the outside as far as the rest of the house is concerned. He’s their ace in the hole in case Boogie/Frank try to “scumbag” them.

Finally last night all four coaches met in the HoH, and hooo boy. Boogie flat out tells Janelle he doesn’t trust her. It goes poorly, and after the convo after Janelle and Britney leave Dan says “Well clearly that isn’t going to work. So are you ready to roll, or what?” Again with that cheshire cat grin.

So the new balance of power is the six pack. All six gathered in the HoH and hammered it out. Danielle will take Wil off the block and put Janelle up against Frank, they have 4 votes in the room (Danielle HoH and Frank on the block can’t vote) and they only need five, so as long as Boogie can get Ian’s vote Frank is golden and Janelle is out. Boogie is confident he can convince Ian, completely unaware that Dan’s insurance final five already has Ian’s vote locked up. It was Dan’s idea to pull Wil off instead of Frank to make it look like the six pack isn’t a united front. (Nice!)

Boogie and Frank legitimately want to take the six pack to final six, as confirmed by private conversations between the two of them. Of course they do; they’re convinced they can easily beat the other four. The previously doomed final four of Dan/Danielle/Britney/Shane also legitimately want to take it to final 7 with Ian. Those four were taking serious fire the first few weeks and thus just want some safety in a solid alliance. Frank and Boogie can certainly relate.

The alliances as they now stand:

Dan, Boogie final 2
Dan, Danielle, Britney, Shane final 4
Dan, Danielle, Britney, Shane, Ian final 5
Dan, Danielle, Britney, Shane, Frank, Boogie final 6
Shane, Danielle final 2

Janelle is gone this week, leaving the rest of the house as Wil, Joe, Jenn and Ashley. Apparently Janelle is a fan favorite, and the harpies at hamstertime hate Danielle with a passion, so the fact that Danielle is evicting Janelle fills them with rage. That makes this move all the sweeter for me, as I hate them. Also, only knowing her from this season, not a fan of Janelle at all. Big fan of Dan, and mad respect to Boogie. This is totally his brainchild, and he totally just flipped the game. All him. But as good as he is, Dan has consistently been three steps ahead of him, and 10 steps ahead of everybody else. That dude was born to play this game.
Great show tonight. In the battle between BB HOFers Mike Boogie and Janelle, it was no contest…

Some really stupid choices in the Veto competition tonight. *Obviously *the winner will pick the POV, so why would anyone before them pick the POV over one of the really good prizes like a trip/money/etc? They know they won’t be able to hang onto the POV so they will be stuck with whatever the winner originally picked.

I missed the episode tonight, I will try to catch it online tomorrow.

IMO, they should have told how many coaches pushed the button to reset.

And IMO, And if one coach said No, then the deal was off.

I guess Janelle and her boobs are out the door tomorrow?

Well, no doubt the producers wanted the coaches back in the game so they made it as likely as possible to happen.

Isn’t the season 16 weeks (or so) long? If they started out with 12 players, somewhere along the line they had to add players to fill the slots. I’m thinking they intended to bring them in all along.

That said. I wonder if the Silent Six is for real of if it’s just another diversion? Will there be less Botox in the house tomorrow? We’ll know tonight!
