Big spinning video ad thingy. What was it and how does it work?

During a layover at Schipol airport (Amsterdam) this weekend I came across a type of video projection device that I haven’t seen before. It was cylindrical; about 7 feet tall and maybe 6 feet in diameter. The “screen” wrapped completely around the exterior and was displaying video ads throughout 360 degrees. The “screen” portion of it was also behind a piece of glass and appeared to be rotating at a pretty fast rate of speed (although it was unclear exactly what was rotating- the screen or something just inside the screeen). Has anyone else seen these things and know what they’re called or how they work?

Was it something like this ?

You win the prize! That’s the one.

The “technology” page of the website explains a bit about how it works, but leaves out a lot too. Doesn’t mention how fast it rotates, how many LEDs it uses, etc. Pretty impressive that it coordinates the on/off of the rotating LEDS to create a stable image. The image was pretty sharp, but certainly not as good as a regular TV, let alone a HDTV as they claim.

Here is a much smaller version of the same idea.
