The recent thread in IMHO on Bikini Waxing started me to wonder if this could be a career path for a guy?
Anyone know of a male working in this field?
Is there a gender barrier here that’s needs to be broken?
There are certainly male estheticians out there who do waxing, and those who do bikini or Brazilian waxes number among them. However, any salon that employs a male waxer will almost certainly notify its clients ahead of time if a man will be doing their waxes, and I am sure many women would not feel comfortable with a male esthetician.
But no, there’s no law or anything against it. I think there are very few male estheticians to begin with since it’s a predominantly female-dominated trade, and those who do waxing will find the cards stacked against them.
I would suspect that the relatively few men who do work in this field are disproportionately more likely to be gay than the male population at large, as well, if it’s not outright a majority!
I also suspect those doing female bikini waxes are either FAR more good looking than average, or so effeminate as to be completely nonthreatening to women.
However, men also have their sensitive areas waxed, you might make a business there.
