Yes, when you get a chance, definitely watch the video.
Even after reading the transcript: Dayum! Gawd dayum!
I want to save a copy of that. Is there any way to do that?
Olbermann nailed what I thought was the most disgustingly cowardly part of the whole interview. Even if I agreed with the right on the issue that would have made me cringe with embarrassment.
There’s a right-clickable link of it at crooksandliars.
My favorite part:
Hits the nail on the head. As has been said before; if you want to fool people, you don’t tell little lies, but big ones. Lazy thinkers will believe on the theory that; “Nobody could possibly expect me to swallow a lie that big, so it must be true.”
Thanks. Got it.
Wait, I thought Clinton was the president who slept around.
Yeah, I saw that after the fact, just figured it wasn’t worth fixing. Sorry.
OK, so the archived MSNBC feed cuts Olbermann off after “Are yours the actions of a true American?” I just watched the more complete version, and was surprised by Olbermann signing off with the iconic “I’m Keith Olbermann. Good night, and good luck.”
Does he always do this, or was this a one time thing? I applaud him for the commentary itself, but I can’t decide if I really like the ending. It smacks a bit of self-promotion and arrogance, as if he’s saying, “Look at me. I’m the new Edward R. Murrow.”
I’m not terribly familiar with Olbermann, so what do you guys think?
He usually signs off with a note referring to the number of days it’s been since “mission accomplished” was declared wrt Iraq, in addition to the GN&GL remark.
Ah. OK.
He also sometimes adds “Keep your knees loose”.
And, uhhm, what happens to me if they’re too tight?
E-Sabbath, those are great links. Should help refresh the memories of those who don’t remember the late 90s.
Regarding Keith Olbermann, I was first impressed by him at least fifteen years ago when he was a local sportscaster in LA and during a sports report he went off on a little side-note about boxing being barbaric. Seemed like biting the hand that fed him, and it seemed like it might have hurt him, but it seems to have worked out in the end.
That caught my attention also, I took it as a reference to objectivity in journalism and a slam directed at Wallace, that and the hope that the nation can survive the Bush administration. Just my take.
They shatter when you hit the ground.

I thought the interview was fair. Clinton has never provided a clear explanation about why he never took Bin Laden seriously-even after the attacks upon the embassies. So, the questions posed to him were fair. What got me was the complete transformation of the man-he went ballistic. part of being a president is being in control, and Bill Clinton clearly wasn’t in control. So, I stand on my conclusion; when faced with a potentally embarrassing question, Bill Clinton threw a hissy fit!
Agreed.
Clinton screwed the pooch, and I’m not referring to Monica. Read Dereliction of Duty: The Eyewitness Account of How Bill Clinton Endangered America’s Long-Term National Security .
Neocon hackjob, a la Swift Boat Vets.
Unimpressed.
This is what Hiliary said-
Clinton, D-N.Y., took aim at President Bush and Rice over their roles in 2001 before the attacks, part of the growing argument touched off after Bill Clinton gave a combative interview on “Fox News Sunday” in which he defended his efforts to kill Osama bin Laden.
“I think my husband did a great job in demonstrating that Democrats are not going to take these attacks,” Hillary Clinton said. “I’m certain that if my husband and his national security team had been shown a classified report entitled ‘Bin Laden Determined To Attack Inside the United States’ he would have taken it more seriously than history suggests it was taken by our current president and his national security team.”
Oh snap!
