We had Bill Nye come talk here at little ol’ Ohio Wesleyan University several years ago. In my four years here, he’s probably the speaker that has brought in the most attendance, because everyone expected that he would do some Cool Science Tricks™ (they were not let down).
My mom met Bill Nye at a national science teacher’s convention in Philly. She took me, but that was the day she sent me off with my grandmother to sightsee instead of bringing me to the convention hall with her.
So whenever she’s bemoaning my future poverty as an English major, I tell her I would’ve entered the sciences if only I’d met Bill Nye.
