Bill Nye the Science Guy gets spied on

The creepy Creation “Museum” in Kentucky is having fits that Bill Nye visited…their parking lot.

How do they know this? They videotaped and timed him.

Gee, really makes you wanna pack up the family and go visit - NOT!

PZ Myers has a report on his site: http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2011/02/revealing_clientele.php

Bill! Bill! Bill! Science RULES!

Oh Bill, didn’t you learn your lesson about hanging out with crazy people? Nothing good can come of venturing into creationist territory.

Pfft. Color me unimpressed – they’ve got security cameras, and somebody recognized a famous person. And considering the headline on Ham’s Facebook page – “Hey Bill, come inside next time” – it doesn’t look to me like anybody’s having fits except PZ Meyers. Granted, though, Ham doesn’t think too highly of either of them (well, he gives some props to Science Guy).

Based on the court filing, I’m going to go with “Wow! Science Guy’s a dick!”

For what reasons can a marriage license be found invalid? Was Science Guy already married and hadn’t bothered to get divorced? Did the check for the license bounce?

I’m curious about that, too. If I had to guess, I’d guess that one of them either left fields unfilled or entered false information into the application.

Because he filed a restraining order against a clearly mentally unstable woman?

Maybe I’m going too far here, but I’m guessing the reason he decided not to marry that woman was for something along the lines of “the kind of crazy that attempts to poison your garden.”

I loved the stuff further down in the article. Emphasis mine:

ya, I don’t see Bill Nye being ill behaved in either story.

He took a picture of the outside of the Creation Museum building? So what. I’m sure he has a professional interest in what they do there.

He took a restraining order out against an ex who poisoned his garden after they broke up? That was a good decision and only confirms that the break up itself was a good decision, too.

Kenny “ArkPark” Ham and his minions are getting even crankier about Bill:

“Bill Nye “The Science Guy” Doesn’t Really Understand Science” can be found on the Hamster’s FB page, along with:

Riiiight, Mr. Hamlette…and you and your Creation “Museum” do REAL SCIENCE…

Apparently it was never completed, in the sense that “conducting the ceremony before applying for a license” is not completing it.

And, in response to others, my assessment of Nye’s behavior is, admittedly, based on Tindall’s legal filing. I do find her story credible and consistent, and she admits she went a little nuts there for a while. I don’t blame Nye for seeking a restraining order; I blame him for marrying her in haste, dumping her on an accidental pretext after they had bought a house together and announced the whole thing all over television, and for this little gem: in a hand-written note (to whom, I don’t know), Nye says Tindall “wasn’t beautiful enough, athletic enough, or a good enough dancer. Now she has fallen for me, (as they always do)” Then whydja marry her, dickwad?

Well I guess she’s guilty of the same thing! And I can’t believe that someone who went to Stanford didn’t understand the technicalities of buying a house. I guess 30 days in rehab is supposed to erase all the dumb things someone’s ever done.
