Bill O'Reilly--fuckwit, just doing his job

Bill “Tide goes in tide goes out . . . you can’t explain that. Sun comes up sun goes down . . . you can’t explain that.” O’Reilly? :dubious:

CMC

That’s a Fox news tradition. They make things up then say “Some people are saying…” when it’s only them saying it.

…“Some people are saying…” …

To be ruthlessly fair, that almost has to be true, there is no opinion so warped and deranged that there is no American to advocate for it! People who think Obama is a Muslim Kenyan exist, they are not made up, not fictitious, just nuts.

O’Reilly isn’t that stupid. But he knows the people who tune in to watch him are, and he’s unethical enough to play to their ignorance. He and Limbaugh and their ilk are just legal con artists.

Carpe non idiotem.

Alternatively, Timeo hyperboreos et ira ferentes.

Exactly, this is his job. He’s a paid political ad. Obama could single handedly defeat satan in hand to hand combat live in front of the entire world and Bill “dumbass hate monger” O’Reilly and his ilk would still have to get up in the morning and tell the world how evil he is.

How DARE he?

“If I were to walk across the Potomac, the headlines would read, ‘PRESIDENT CAN’T SWIM!’”

– LBJ

 “I fear Yankees bearing gifts”?

Cerebrum pretiosum, vita brevis.

Carpe non idiotam.

Timeo hyperboreos et iram ferentes.

Details, schmetails. Anyway, Obama was, from the clips I’ve seen, all veni, vidi, vici in Bill-O’s face.

The sad thing is that there are a range of tough questions that could have been asked. An opportunity to address substantive issues that lay bare tensions between policy and practice or probe areas with no clearly correct decisions exist.

Instead there was nothing but empty, partisan fantasies.

Irishmen bearing shouts/anger

Considering the ACA is Obama’s signature legislative accomplishment, I don’t think it’s out of bounds to ask him about the highly problematic rollout.

Obviously non-crazy America is over the Benghazi and IRS “scandals”, so those were stupid. I wish O’Reilly had asked him about drone policy and the NSA instead. You know, things normal people care about - but those seem to be right in line with O’Reilly’s own ideology.

Billious O’Reilly already knew the answers to his questions on the IRS and Benghazi. He also knew that the answers are long and complex, while the questions have the advantage of being short and pithy. As well, there isn’t any real chance that his audience will believe the answers, even if they understood them. Bill just wants to buff his image as the guy who asks the Tough Questions, Obama wants to buff his image as the guy who will talk to anyone.

The fact that Obama’s answers were smarter than Bill’s questions doesn’t really count. His audience resents complex and nuanced intelligence, they have an unsupported faith in plain talking common sense, as they see it. The product is bogus, and he isn’t delivering it anyway.

I couldn’t help feeling I was watching a child interview an adult.

I’d go with Hibernicōs.

I think it’s best when you have people who disagree with you interview you.

A distinction deserves to be made between those that disagree with you because of differing views and those that disagree with you because you’re YOU.

Especially since the Hyperboreans never existed.
