Obama to appear on O'Reilly tonight

Linkage

Obama is going to step into the [del]No[/del] Spin Zone with Billo tonight. It should be interesting and it might even help him. I think if O’Reilly screams and yells, it will only help Obama. I also think it’s a smart way to piss on John McCain’s speech a little bit. Obama on O’Reilly is far more interesting than anything McCain will have to say.

Obama is also scheduled to go on Olbermann on monday. I believe K.O. is being fitted for some brand new kneepads just for the occasion.

Good move. Lots of people watch O’Reilly, and Obama can reach them. I don’t think Obama has anything to fear from Bill. He’ll do just fine, and maybe even wipe the floor a bit if he has to.

I am a total ignoramus, but does FOX stream O’Reilly anywhere? I do not have a TV, but would be curious to watch.

I think it’s a great move in the wake of McCain’s decision to be a whiny-ass titty baby and cancel his CNN appearances because the big mean woman hurt his spokesman’s wittle feewings.

Do they repeat these? I’m at work now and then I go straight to school until later tonight, but I could set my tivo for it if they show it again in the wee hours.

They’re going to rerun it at 12:00 CDT

I’m actually a little worried about this. I don’t think Obama is quick-witted in the way usually required for shows like this.

AFAICT, Olbermann luuuurrrves Obama. Or did you not mean to imply otherwise?

I just saw a preview of the interview, and this is why I love Obama. He was completely diplomatic, straightforward; he was focusing on the things they agree on. I’m really looking forward to this…

After Obama’s Dem Convention speech, O’Reilly said he sees that Obama has good intentions; he knows the deal. I know O’Reilly is basically non-partisan, so he’s excited about this interview.

I’m really looking forward to this interview because it will give Fox News regulars a chance to see Obama firsthand. Afterwards, they can’t say a shit thing because Obama is as pure as McCain. These are two really good, decent people who have so much to offer. This is a tough bastard of a race.

My implication was that Olbermann would be doing a lot of kneeling, if you know what I mean.

Good luck figuring out what time that is in this screwy state, but I should be home by then, thanks.

It’s kind of a weird night to have the O’Reilly/Obama interview though… this is McCain’s night. that’s like 20/20 having an interview with McCain during Obama’s speech last week. That would have been in poor form.

Kind of like announcing a VP choice the night after your opponent’s convention speech. This is payback.

Good point… plus the O’Reilly Factor has been dying to interview Obama for the longest time. And after what they put him through during the Pastor Wright thing, they owe him big time.

My prediction: Obamaniacs will feel that Obama comes off well, directly addresses O’Reilly’s questions, and expertly articulates his plan for a better America. McSamers will opine that he shades the truth on several points, and comes off as a tree-hugging Ivy-League old-school tax-and-spend liberal. Both sides will decide that Bill is obviously biased against their side.

When should they have announced it? They kind of had a limited window between the end of the Democratic Convention and Hurricane Gustav.

When both sides say that the media is biased against them, they’re both wrong.

Thanks. I needed a laugh.

I think the point was McCain’s choice knocked the wind out of Obama’s momentum… the story hasn’t died as of yet. it’s still being talked about. So considering everything, especially how O’Reilly has been literally begging Obama for an interview for months on end, tonight is as good a night as any.

Now I gotta figure out the channel number for Fox Noise, all my TVs and remotes are set to bypass the silly thing.

They could have announced it before the Dem convention or at least waited a day. It was intentionally timed to try to fuck the morning after discussion of Obama’s speech, and it worked.
