I’ve seen the “interview” on video, and it’s the most unprofessional piece of “journalism” I’ve ever seen. For it I coined the term “news wanchor”.

I don’t care who he goes after. Starting an interview with “Why are you on this jihad against pro-choice speakers?” IS nasty spin, plain and simple, using an emotional word that, in our current climate, is meant to cast all sorts of nasty associations onto the person it describes. THAT is the sort of tactic I despise about O’Reily, not who he directs it at.
His bit with Gingrich makes sense, because that is just a common right-wing phrase floating around being used whenever convienient. But that doesn’t make it a false observation.
Apos, my original point was to refute the notion that O’Reilly is a right-wing puppet. I don’t sit down to watch his show with a box of kleenex and a bottle of hand lotion or anything, but I do enjoy it. I consider myself fairly well versed on current events…and O’Reilly is one of the only people to raise the bullshit flag on someone and call them on it. Some people don’t like that style…especially if the person being taken to task happens to be of thier particular ideological bent.

Just watched it again. Glick is espousing some radical viewpoints, but O’Reilly is a total shit.
At first glance, I thought you were talking about Jiminy Glick, that stupid character that Martin Short plays on his show on Comedy Central. I thought you weren’t being serious.
O’Reilly is a demonstrable liar. He’s extraordinally talented at what he does, and he’s extremely charismatic. He is an extremely talented rhetorical manipulator.
He’s not the devil. He is merely another in a long line of money- and power-driven media whores.
The problem is that his “bullshit flag” is flapped in the faces of people who merely disagree with him and aren’t necessarily trying to spin. He also lets Bush administration flunkies spin like tops without ever challenging anything. Newt Gingrich has criticised Bush’s foreign policy so that’s why O’Reilly hates him now.
Also, no one ever gets to call O’Reilly on his own quite considerable bullshit output.
he’s not a perfect right wing puppet, that’s for certain, since he holds definatively non r/w/p views on one or two issues.
Maybe he’s overdue for a tune up.

O’reilly is a registered Republican, who constantly refers to those on the left/liberals as "radicals, charlatans and fanatics, while simply referring to Republicans as just that, Republicans.

Tell ya what, Ashtar. You give me any one of O’Reilly’s “Talking Points” memos, and I will show you the spin in it, giving lie to “no spin” claims.
O’Reilly also lied about whether or not he called for a boycott of Pepsi because they used Ludacris in a commercial. He called for the boycott on the air and on his website. He has called boycotts “unAmerican” when they have born organized for causes he doesn’t like. When he was challenged on this inconsistency by an e-mailer, O’Reilly denied that he had ever urge a boycott. It was as flat and demonstrable a lie as he has ever told on the air.
There are many of us who think that Hillary’s ass is kissed by too many people…including those in the mainstream media. I personally can’t stand her or her politics…so anytime somebody puctures that aura of perfection she trys to maintain, I enjoy every minute of it.
Hillary has been brutalized and savaged by misogynistic hate screamers like Bill O’Reilly for the last 10 years. Who the fuck in the media ever kissed her ass?

O’Reilly is also a hypocrite. he has been bleating about the "boycott of France and any and all things French that he has supposedly been leading as a form of “payback” :rolleyes: for how cruelly France treated the US over the whole Saddam issue.:rolleyes:
Yet when O’Reilly was in DC last week he had lunch no less then 3 times at a prominent french restaurant.
