Billy Strings & Don Julin - Holy Crap!

I’d never heard of them before but I just saw these guys at the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival. Strings (yes, that’s his real name AFAIK) is an unbelievable flat picker. He’s only in his early 20s but has the singing voice of an Appalachian mountain man. How good will he be in twenty years? His partner Julin can play the mandolin like few others. Together they must hold the notes-per-second record, if there is such a thing. I bought a CD after the show and as good as it is, seeing them live (I went to both of their sets) is an absolute must for anyone who likes this type of music. Freakin’ awesome.
