Bio-cement? Can't find info. Help?

A close friend has ostioperosis (sp?) in his back. His DR. recommended a procedure that involves injecting “bio-cement” into the afflicted vetabrea, though he (the DR.) didn’t know the specifics of the procedure recomending a specialist instead. Does anyone know anything about this procedure or have first hand knowlege? Any help would be appreciated.

Should have more look if you do a web search for “bone cement”, the stuff orthopods and dentists use as a substitute. Bone is basically a mixture of calcium and phosphate, and so is the bone cement. “Bio-cement” sounds like a trade name, which is easy to confuse with the generic one.

1962, Sir John Charnley used a small (22 mm) stainless steel ball on a stem which was inserted into the bone to replace the femoral (ball) side of the joint and a high density plastic socket to replace the acetabular (socket) side. Both of these components were secured to bone with a self-curing acrylic polymer commonly referred to as bone cement
Don’t know if this is what you’re looking for but I found this info when researching my surgery.

Well DAMN.don’t know what to do with that.
