It wasn’t bad. I’ll watch it again. It wasn’t great and I am still expecting it to be canceled rather quickly, but for now I’ll set my VCR.
Caught this on Friday’s Sci Fi repeat and man, was this ever not good. I try to give pilots a lot of benefit of the doubt but this was just not good on any level. Terrible acting. Even Miguel Ferrer was bad and I didn’t think that was possible. Jaime Sommers was a dishrag. Sarah was interesting enough, back when she was on the far superior “The Pretender” and named Bridgette and was played by Pam Gidley. The visual FX were terrible and, I’m sorry, I know it’s a “re-imagining” or whatever but would a few sound effects for the bionics have ruined the concept? The whole “we do things my way or I’ll start killing everyone” crap at the end was ridiculous. Unless she’s somehow immune from sleep, how hard is it for the Possibly Evil Government Scientists to get her unconscious and cut off her bionic limbs? Threaten to kill us now, Stumpy.
Why bother remaking something if you’re not going to do it with any of the charm of the original?
Ask the folks who ‘reimagined’ Flash Gordon.
I don’t know if I’m getting jaded in my old age or what, but it seems like a lot of these lower budget re-imaginings are all done by Dawson’s creek. Too much angst and drama, not enough story.
Kara Thrace installed another Bionic eye? With what? A trip to Radio Shack? Walmart had 'em on sale? This was obviously written by a technical illiterate, for an audience of technical illiterates. Tech is hard, umkay? So let’s just get this nasty techy stuff out of the way and we can have a make out scene.

People are being way too hard on this show. Its’ a show about a cyborg woman kicking ass, not Shakespeare for grife’s sake. Why can she heal quickly? Nanites. Why can she run that fast without her heart exploding? Nanites. Why did she have sex 15 minutes after being scared out of her mind? Nan-, actually that’s just bad writing.
