The first Bioshock Infinite DLC was released today - four new maps with combat challenges.
But far more interesting IMHO was the announcement of the next DLC - a two part story involving Booker and Elizabeth as playable characters in Rapture. Pre-Bioshock 1 Rapture at that - the city is still intact.
Story and trailers here. My favorite bit is when you walk past the Little Sisters who turn to look at you in unison.
Does anyone actually enjoy challenge maps? They always feel like a chore when I’m playing them. They’re also a lazy way to add dlc content. The Rapture dlc could be good though I’m not sure what’s left to reveal about the city. Seems pretty well trodden ground at this point.
Doesn’t sound very fun playing as Elizabeth. Or does she finally pick a weapon and join the fray? I can’t go to the website, it’s blocked from me here at work.
You spend each fight looking through trash cans and desk drawers for silver dollars to flip at Booker
Agreed about the DLC. No interest in the challenge maps but want to play the Rapture DLC. I’ll have to wait to find a good sale on the Season Pass since I’m not interested in 33% of it.
Looking forward to the Rapture DLC. Who the fuck keeps buying challenge maps? Whoever you are, QUIT THAT. Seriously, the main game, on a combination of normal and easy, kicked my ass more than enough. It kicked my ass so much that I sorta wanted to stop playing it, because getting my ass kicked was not why I was playing Bioshock. Why the FUCK would I want pure, concentrated, HARDER THAN HARD getting my ass kicked that I have to pay extra for? Grr.
(Yes, I AM feeling grouchier than usual this morning. Why in the FUCK do you ask?)
I’d love it if they went into more of the story of the Saturnites and all of the symbology that was on the walls in Rapture. Those little easter eggs could fill up a lot of game play if done right.
My cynical assumption is that they sell the Season Pass by promising three DLCs at a discounted “combo” price and then softball one of them to keep the development cost down. A map where you fight a bunch of dudes in an arena-style area has to be easier to produce than a plot-based full experience in Rapture.
