(CNN)Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Monday stood by his criticism of so-called “no-go” zones in Europe, where sovereign nations allegedly cede authority to Muslim immigrants, a controversial idea that many critics say is overblown.

And he decried what he called immigrants’ insistence on "non-assimilation, the fact that “you’ve got people who want to come to our country but not adopt our values,” which he called “dangerous.”

Bobby Jindal now says the UK is HIS country?

Second, even though the FOX news talking-head that made these claims has been publicly discredited and FOX has apologized for the misstatement on air, he’s gone back to backing this false claim? Wow!!!

From CNN, quoting Jindal’s speech to Henry Jackson Society in London:

Earlier Monday, in an address to the Henry Jackson Society in London, Jindal said that “in the West, non-assimilationist Muslims establish enclaves and carry out as much of Sharia law as they can without regard for the laws of the democratic countries which provided them a new home,” according to prepared remarks.

“It is startling to think that any country would allow, even unofficially, for a so called ‘no-go zone.’ The idea that a free country would allow for specific areas of its country to operate in an autonomous way that is not free and is in direct opposition to its laws is hard to fathom,” he added.

Guess he didn’t learn anything from the Fox walk back that occurred recently. Two different CNN reporters/analysts/commentators (?) asked him for details and Jindal would provide none.

The parts of his speech you quote are masterful rhetoric, used to assholish ends.

His comment has to be precisely correct since by definition that is what non-assimilationist Muslims would do. A careless listener is given the impression (probably intentionally) that he’s saying that all (or most or many) Muslims are non-assimilationist, but if he’s called on the accuracy of his comment, it is by definition accurate, even if the impression conveyed is not.

“It is startling to think that any country would allow, even unofficially, for a so called ‘no-go zone.’ The idea that a free country would allow for specific areas of its country to operate in an autonomous way that is not free and is in direct opposition to its laws is hard to fathom,” he added.

Note that he gives the impression that this is actually happening while never actually saying so. Again, a careless listener will hear this as testimony that countries are allowing ‘no-go zones’ etc but if he’s called on it, he’ll say he never actually said any country was doing so, only that it would be startling and hard to fathom.

It appears The City of Paris plans to sue Fox News!

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo told CNN Tuesday she intends to sue Fox News in the wake of the channel’s coverage of supposed “no-go zones” for non-Muslims.

Hidalgo said the channel had “insulted” her city.

“When we’re insulted, and when we’ve had an image, then I think we’ll have to sue, I think we’ll have to go to court, in order to have these words removed,” Hidalgo told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour. “The image of Paris has been prejudiced, and the honor of Paris has been prejudiced.”
