Did anyone else watch this? I’d seen some commercials and put it in the ‘maybe’ column for watching. Then I read some article on Kinja (Jezebel? Gawker?) about the Million Moms/AFA having a kitten about it and decided to watch it.

It cracked me up.

For the record, I enjoy things where Jesus’ message are re-examined (Dogma, Last Temptation) or reimagined (this skit I swear I saw I SNL where a bunch of people are talking about ‘some lady giving birth in some barn’ at a truck stop–which I have never been able to find).

Also the odd Fat Albert ref was funny.

The commercials really had me looking forward to it.

I watched it, and i enjoyed it… but i’m having a hard time stating why. It wasn’t over the top funny, but i’ll be back for more.

I even liked the “low budget” (for lack of a better term) editing. Part of the charm i guess.

We saw the commercials and thought it looked pretty funny too, but eleven o’clock on a weeknight? Not bloody likely. I hope they’ll move it to a better slot.

I liked it enough.

I expected it to be a lot more cynical, but it was thankfully not. I like that Jesus is nice and wants to be helpful.

Okay, watched it last night after having a few beers. I laughed myself silly.
That said, I do feel slightly guilty for laughing so much.

We recorded it and watched the first two episodes. Definitely a few good laughs!
