Well, he said “nearly no” piercings, so I’m assuming he has permission to have either pierced nipples or a Prince Albert.
Other than a monocle. Do all black Canadians talk like Stewie Griffin?
Insecurity with your sexuality?
Mom has threatened to kick you out if you get a piercing?
(what does the winning guess receive?)
He’s not going to answer you soon.
It took him sixteen months to make his first comment.
Inquiring minds need to know!!! If I have to wait another 16 months for his next response, so be it.
Can I take more than one guess as to why he won’t get pierced ears?
Guess 1: He doesn’t want to be mistaken for a black pirate.
Guess 2: Reminds him of people who are rich, famous and successful, thereby depressing him.
Guess 3: ‘Fraid o’ the gheys syndrome.
Guess 4: Once choked on an earing/stud that had fallen into his spaghetti dinner at a fancy restaurant and has a phobia.
There are no black people in Canada*.
*And by “black people”, I mean “cacti”.
I’ve got it!
He has no ears.
He’s magnetic.
Because in Canada, wearing an earring means you’re gay ?
Which is weird, you know. 'Cause in the rest of the world, it’s fucking people of the same sex as you. O Tempura, o Morse code or something.
That’s not true; there are many cacti in Canada.
My husband did Magellan and Bluenose the same trip… nothing like around the world under the icepack =) [he has the vial of arctic sea water also]
I don’t mind a small under 1 carat diamond stud, but I think the 3 and 4 carat faux diamonds are jarring. My romanian buddy has both ears pierced and wears fairly large diamond/faux diamond studs, which as I said I find a bit jarring. His ears, his choice. Though I have been tempted to give him a spare pair of sapphire earrings I got from an ex that are about a quarter carat and would look fantastic on him.
The big fake blocky diamond earrings that are all the rage in the black community look ridiculous. It’s funny how people in this thread are going out of their way to pretend they don’t know what the OP is really referring to just to be obtuse. If this was a critique of white fashion everyone would be all over it.
To pile on though I think worse than the fake earrings are the flat brimmed hats with price tags still on them that are so popular with the urban crowd (white and black). Especially horrible looking on grown men. I also hate the blinded out flashy style of most of the hats sold at stores like Lids and Hat Shop. I couldn’t find a basic Bears hat any where and ended up having to order one online.
Actually, it’s you and other attempted defenders of the OP who are being obtuse and/or ambiguous about what’s actually being referred to. “Big fake blocky diamond earrings” was just one of the OP’s beefs:
As I pointed out in post #60,
In any case, I personally still don’t have any problem at all with either small hoops/studs or big shiny multi-carat earrings, single or paired, on black or non-black men. You can call the look “ridiculous” if you want to, but AFAIC you are what is technically known as “wrong”.
Guys of any race or color can rock full-on Mughal court earrings without bothering me in the slightest. (Oh, and I’m just fine with the rings, bracelets and multi-strand pearl necklace in that painting too, although perhaps they wouldn’t work with a business suit.)
This post would have been funnier if you went the other way with it…
You want him to pull his pants down? Dude … inappropriate.

They’re not price tags, but I totally agree this is a ridiculous look.

What are they? 20 years ago I worked with some young black guys that did, in fact, leave the price tags hanging from their clothing. I had no idea it was still a “thing.”
