Blank wall = projector. Need distraction... SDMB!

I’ve become obsessed with it.
The layout of my lounge means the sofa can only face one way - at a wall.

I have no TV. Only this PC. I will now be buying a projector, a screen & a DVD player. I’ll hook up the computer, the amp and then enjoy 65 inches of glorious widescreen Straight Dope.

I’ve hardly been on the SDMB recently, been reading reviews and such on www.avsforum.com and am going potty over it. Now, when the S.O. says do you want to watch a movie?
I say yes resignedly becuase we watch them on her laptop. Madness! Everything is grey and the little machine’s fan must be about 40 decibels.

I need calming down. There is more to life than staring at a wall.
I need solace, distraction etc. How’s Opalcat doing etc.

The projector/screen combo is the only way to go.

If you don’t want to spring the huge bucks for a commercial screen, you can easily build one yourself. I put together a web page showing how I build my screen.
