Blind Color...

This is prolly going to sound retarded, but I was wondering, do blind that used to be able to see, do they see black or white or some other color? Like when I close my eyes really tight, I see black. Is it that way for blind people or not? Thanks

I believe that sight is possible through the ability of the retina to sense light. When I have my eyes closed, I see a number of different colors, and black if I close them tightly, like you. I would think that if a blind person cannot sense light, they wouldn’t see any colors when their eyes were closed, as this depends on some light coming through the eyelid. This is just a WAG, though.
