I don’t have the energy or interest to waste my time reading any of them dad-gum stud-eze things, but if naita’s summary is to be believed, weren’t the 2011 and 2017 studies carried out so differently that it’s asinine to claim that the latter refutes the former? I mean, yes, Fox and the NRA are entirely composed of assholes so this sort of thing is to be expect of them, but it behooves people who post on this board to not make a similar error/sleazy misrepresentation.
Presuming, of course, that naita’s summary is to be believed. But since the alternative is having to actually read the study-things myself, I’m inclined at the moment to take their word.

Welcome to the Straight Dope. It seems the Teeming Millions were remiss in offering you a proper welcome. Not my call about the move from IMHO to the Pit, but I’d say the OP isn’t really asking for debate. You’re relatively new to the boards and it takes a bit to get acclimated but I will say that pro gun POVs are certainly welcome, as are opposing views. Evidence based arguments are even more welcome. I hope you enjoy your stay.
ETA: the rules for each forum are a bit different and I always encourage new posters to become familiar with them so as to get an idea of what to expect. Some individual forums will have their specific rules as a sticky at the top of the forum, but if not, the general rules in ATMB forum apply.
